Herzstück des sogenannten High Definition 5.1 oder 7.1 Surround ist der 6 oder 8-Kanal Decoder Chip. Er erzeugt getrennte Signale für Mehrkanal-Audio Systeme. Dolby digital (A/52 und AC-3) ist ein mittlerweile frei verfügbares Audio Bitstream-Format. Es gibt auch komprimierte Varianten. Der Sound in Dolby digital Live Systemen ist beeindruckend, und versetzt Dich direkt ins Geschehen.

Mein Verstärker: Yamaha RX-V467 (schon etwas älter, aber ich bin mit diesem hochzufrieden, da er meine Erwartungen mehr als erfüllt hat)

Direct (true) Surround

Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 PRO USB: Dolby digital Live. This can only provided through spdif optical digital connection to a multi-channel sound system or home cinema amplifier. The optical wire gives you clearer, powerful sound and signal with higher sampling rates. If you are looking for a good PCIe card you should have a look on:Soundblaster Audigy Rx 7.1. Soundcards are not expensive as graphicadapters.
A game with very good surround and direction FX is the awarded Alien Isolation - i highly recommend it if you are a fan of atmosphere. It has got native 5.1 support and quite good graphics for its age. sometimes it is less than € 5 in sale.

Everybody who cares about good surround with headphones should have a look on this: Creative SXFI GAMER. These are not comparable with sound on jack connection and sound much better than analog ones when connected to usb-c! Manufacturer is not lying when it claims that it sounds like it is on a high-end multispeaker system and sitting directly in the middle of happening, not putted on: I own them and their sound phenomenal! Chilling sound! They are crispy clear and voluminous. The bass is heavy and well shielded. Surround only and amplified provided digital over usb (need for boost power / DAC). SXFI might be too spatial for you, so selecting virtual surround 5.1 or 7.1 is a good option. Bass is heavier when SXFI on. My impression was that you can hear more detail than other headphones. Do not use jack - the usb is what you need to get optimal listening. It is required to make a profile of your face to setup SXFI Control software and optimize your sound setting -
