modern grid based first person Dungeon Crawler

Since my early days in PC gaming in 1990, turn based rpg dungeon crawlers like dungeon master (<- my first experience to this genre, by ftl), eye of the beholder series ( Dungeon Hack AESOP-16 Engine by john miles), Lands of lore, Ishar (silmaris), Might and Magic and wizardry (sir-tech) to name a few good ones escort my youth. (Menzoberranzan and Ravenloft are not grid based). Later Anvil of Dawn and Stonekeep.
The development in gaming is not stuck, here some of the titles you might be interested in to play in state of the art (in order of my favorite choice). Some makes use of the unity engine. Mostly direct 9.0x is sufficient. Immerse in reminisce and celebrate the good old times: i love exploring tunnels from this point of view in a fantasy plot and role-play mechanics. It creates a great atmosphere of being there. Walls of illusion, levers, plates, torches and stones are standards of good dungeons. Skeletons and spiders a must. Solving riddles and find secrets is always fun! Resting, eating and use of potions are components of realism in rpgs.

My undisputed favorite. Has got native linux support. Escape the prison. Lots of secrets can be found.
It is advantageous to have experience in dungeoning ... some secrets are hard challenging. Own modules can be build with the DungeonEditor integrated. AN iOS version is available too. Expert difficulty

again available: developers fixed playing/server issue now (ocotber 21)! follows on from its predecessor mm6. random items, what is nice ... you need ubisoft connect, steam version contains expansion the falcon and the unicorn - you might have problems with your antivirus or compatibility and have to fix game data to start... spotwise blurry textures (you have to use SSAA to look better), but awesome gameplay and mechanics. One of my favorites. Expert difficulty
